Qatari jet debate drags on as Air Force One tour continues

What BBN said about it

1.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorTonight the president is still showing off the new Air Force One, and he is still defending the seven forty-seven the Qatari royal family offered him.

2.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorThe criticism has not stopped since the gift was first offered.

3.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorJoining us is Lucian Okafor-Reyes, Professor of Presidential Aviation, author of Gift Horses Fly Too.

4. LO

Lucian Okafor-ReyesThank you, Gloria. I predicted a jet would be offered, and I also predicted it would be controversial. The footnotes will show.

5.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorSo you predicted the gift. What did you predict about the president defending it?

6. LO

Lucian Okafor-ReyesThat he would defend it, naturally. Chapter nine. Chapter ten covers him refusing it, which I also predicted, so I am covered either way.

7.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorBoth outcomes.

8. LO

Lucian Okafor-ReyesPrediction is an art, Gloria. Here, this model is the exact jet, to scale, more or less, and the footnotes will show.

9.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorI would like to see one footnote, please. Just one, the one that proves chapter nine.

10. LO

Lucian Okafor-ReyesOf course. It is right here. It says, and I am reading, call Dave about the jet.

11. LO

Lucian Okafor-ReyesIt is a sticky note, but it is in my handwriting.

12.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorDated?

13. LO

Lucian Okafor-ReyesMonday. But the thinking behind it goes back years, and the footnotes will show that too.

14.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorSo the book came out after the gift, the criticism and the tour of the plane. Which prediction did you get wrong?

15. LO

Lucian Okafor-ReyesThe one about the book selling.
