What BBN said about it

1.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorSpotify put up lyrics for Dolly Parton's Welsh version of Jolene, and it listed them as Irish, the BBC reports.

2.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorA Dolly song in the wrong language. That's the most Dolly thing that could happen to a streaming service.

3.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThe version is sung in English and Welsh. There was no Irish in it, and Spotify showed Irish anyway.

4.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorEnglish and Welsh in the song, Irish on the screen. We call that a bonus language, at no extra charge.

5.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThey removed the Irish lyrics after the BBC asked them about it. They didn't say when the error was made or noticed.

6.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorResponsive. A company that acts the moment somebody asks.

7.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorIt's the second posthumous single from Parton, who was of Welsh descent. It came out on the ninth of October.

8.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorAnd Lewis, from Neath, translated it herself. She did the Welsh. Spotify did the Irish.

9.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorA billion streams of the English one. The Welsh one got an Irish lyric sheet.
