Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorReal Madrid's Vinicius Junior says referees are targeting him, and he wants protection for players like Yamal and Alvarez.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorSkip Waverly is outside the stadium in Madrid.
Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentHank, I'm outside the stadium, and behind me a crowd of fans is arguing about whether Vinicius gets fouled or just falls down, and nobody here has a rulebook.
Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentI'm told the case is simple: he wants referees to protect players who bring something different to the game. Sir, you've been waiting to speak.
Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentIs he getting fouled?
Hector ValdiviaFouled? I have watched every match since nineteen ninety-eight, and I carry this whistle for exactly that reason.
Hector ValdiviaHe gets touched, yes, but he falls like a wardrobe.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorA wardrobe.
Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentAnd now the man is blowing the whistle at me, Hank, so I may be the one who gets fouled. Anyway, I'm available for the desk if Madrid ever needs a referee.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorNo foul, Skip. Play on.
