Publicist says Google's Universal Cart is a comeback for your…

What BBN said about it

1.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorGoogle's Universal Cart is now live across Search and the Gemini app in the US, one cart that follows you from store to store.

2.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorJoining us from a yacht is publicist Montgomery Xiang. Montgomery, what do you make of it?

3. MX

   Montgomery XiangVera, I love it.

4. MX

Montgomery XiangWe're not calling it a shopping cart, we're calling it a second act for everything you ever abandoned at two in the morning.

5.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorSo the lamp I almost bought and the fourth air fryer are what, exactly?

6. MX

Montgomery XiangTalent. Misunderstood talent. That air fryer was never a failure, it was in a transition period, and now it has representation. Me, hypothetically.

7.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorBut the cart follows you across every store. Doesn't that sound a little like a stalker?

8. MX

Montgomery XiangWe're not calling it a stalker.

9. MX

Montgomery XiangWe're calling it a fan with excellent attendance, and frankly the rebrand writes itself. I'd sign it by Friday.

10.

    Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorSign it?

11. MX

Montgomery XiangFifteen percent of every impulse buy. Now, forgive me, I'm adjusting my sextant. Don't ask why it's full of ice.

12.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorMontgomery, that is a cocktail shaker, and it has a gold lid with a little strainer on it.

13. MX

Montgomery XiangWe're not calling it a shaker. We're calling it navigation, and the boat is not being repossessed, it's being gently reunited with a bank.

14.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorSo let me ask you: what is sitting in your own cart right now?

15. MX

Montgomery XiangThe yacht. Forty-one items and a yacht, saved for later. But it's not abandoned, Vera. It's a pending comeback.
