What BBN said about it

  1. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorIn North Carolina, WRAL reports that five tornadoes tore through the central region, destroying trees and leaving homes damaged across northeast Raleigh.

  2. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorWith me from Charlotte is Ferdinand Oyelaran-Hobbs, managing partner at Brightwater Lindqvist Advisory. Ferdinand, what is your read on the night?

  3. Ferdinand Oyelaran-HobbsGloria, my read is that a number of trees are now on the ground that were previously upright.

  4. Ferdinand Oyelaran-HobbsTo put a pin in it, that is a finding, and I would scope a full study.

  5. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorThe trees were uprooted by tornadoes. Is the study about why?

  6. Ferdinand Oyelaran-HobbsThe study is about wind. Wind moved the trees.

  7. Ferdinand Oyelaran-HobbsI have a laminated chart, and to put a pin in it, I would need a twelve-week engagement.

  8. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorTwelve weeks. The storm lasted minutes.

  9. Ferdinand Oyelaran-HobbsAnd that is precisely the inefficiency.

  10. Ferdinand Oyelaran-HobbsA faster tornado would have been cheaper for everyone, and I would put a pin in that, with a quarterly review.

  11. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorLet me ask you plainly. Homes in northeast Raleigh are damaged. What do you tell a family standing in front of one?

  12. Ferdinand Oyelaran-HobbsI tell them to call their insurer, and then, to put a pin in it, I send an invoice for telling them.

  13. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorYou send an invoice for that.

  14. Ferdinand Oyelaran-HobbsItemized. Four thousand an hour, and the chart is extra, because the laminate was not cheap.

  15. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorAnd what do I owe you for tonight's conversation, Ferdinand?

  16. Ferdinand Oyelaran-HobbsThe first hour is complimentary. Which, to put a pin in it, ended four minutes ago.
