What BBN said about it

1.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorNASA's Perseverance rover has set a record for the longest drive ever made on Mars, and Skip Waverly is live to tell us how a robot beat my commute.

2.

Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentHank, I'm standing in a dark parking lot outside a space museum that is very much closed, and the record is that Perseverance covered more ground on Mars than any rover has driven there before.

3.

Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentNo detours, no traffic, no boss. Honestly, it's the career path I'd pick, and I'd happily do desk reads on the way.

4.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThanks, Skip. Who's that behind you?

5.

Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentThis is Desmond Okafor-Reyes, a night shift bus driver, who stopped here to eat a gas station burrito.

6.

Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentDesmond, a rover just drove a record distance on Mars. Thoughts?

7. DO

Desmond Okafor-ReyesDoes it get to park?

8. DO

Desmond Okafor-ReyesBecause I've circled the Elm Street garage for twenty minutes, and I'd trade places with that thing in a heartbeat.

9.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorA robot with no parking problems. I'd file that under things that will outlast us.

10.

Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentExactly, Hank, and management never had to give it a raise.

11.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorLater this half hour, why is a celebrity bird bot suddenly a controversy?

12.

Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentHank, that's the only desk it will ever get.
