National Cat Day 2026: Listeners Show Off Their Kitties

What BBN said about it

1.

Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentStation 98. 1 KHAK asked listeners to show off their cats for National Cat Day, which was Thursday, and I assume the photos came in.

2.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorThe holiday was created in two thousand five by Colleen Paige, and it also urges people to adopt from local shelters.

3.

   Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorSo there's a point to it.

4.

Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentThis is file footage, not a listener's cat, but look at this. Orange tabby, concrete patio, one puddle.

5.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorI'm not watching it closely.

6.

Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentWatch the head drop here. Tongue touches the water, and it just keeps lapping. That's commitment to a puddle.

7.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorRun it back. The head comes up slightly at the end, like it's checking the room for reviews.

8.

Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentThought you weren't watching. Viral Score, nine out of ten, because the cat ignored the camera, the holiday and the teal chair behind it.

9.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorI'd have said ten, but the chair was slightly out of focus.
