Amazon MGM Studios Japan doubles investment in original content

What BBN said about it

1.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorHere's why you're here. Amazon MGM Studios Japan says it has doubled its investment in original Japanese content, according to Deadline.

2.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorThe new head of Japan, Buddy Marini, said Prime had been acting as an aggregator and that business grew very successfully.

3. CW

Cassius WrenAs a matter of originality, I respect that. Aggregating is just curating with a bigger warehouse.

4.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorDeadline says they didn't put a number on the doubling. As a spin professional, I'd call that a confident, unspecified milestone.

5. CW

Cassius WrenDoubling something unmeasured is my favorite kind of growth. I've done it with my own height.

6.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorLet's talk about Salvage Hearts. What is it?

7. CW

Cassius WrenIt's a bold, original drama about a man who restores old lighthouses and falls in love with the lamp.

8.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorRight now? The lamp is sitting right there in the room with you.

9. CW

   Cassius WrenThat's Gladys. She's a prop, a muse, and a business partner.

10.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorSo, is Salvage Hearts original, or is it the same show you did six years ago with a new title?

11. CW

Cassius WrenAs a matter of originality, the title is different. The lighthouse is the same, and so are the scripts.

12.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorThe same scripts.

13. CW

Cassius WrenReshelved! The word is reshelved. Fine, I confess: the crew calls it Salvage Hearts Prime.

14.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorMarini said the company wants to focus more on original content. You're the before picture, Cassius.

15. CW

Cassius WrenI'd call it a pivot in progress, thank you.

16.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorLightning round. Original or aggregator: your last film?

17. CW

    Cassius WrenAggregator.

19. CW

Cassius WrenAggregator, with a very successful microphone.

20.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorVerdict: Salvage Hearts is a very successful reshelving. Cassius, where can people see it?

21.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorMr. Wren, your lighthouse is on, and it's the only original thing in the room.
