'Other Desert Cities' revival gets laughs but no bite

What BBN said about it

1.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorJulia Louis-Dreyfus and Allison Janney have opened Other Desert Cities, the first Broadway revival of the family drama, and the New York Post says it has laughs but no bite.

2.

Rosa Ticks · Live ReporterIt's a family with issues, Dale, and I have been told there are a LOT of issues, plus an intermission, which is the part I care about!

3.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorIt runs two and a half hours, so the issues get plenty of time to settle in.

4.

Rosa Ticks · Live ReporterTwo and a half hours! That's two hundred and fifty snacks if you're brave!

5.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorOne hundred and fifty minutes, Rosa. That's not the same.

6.

Rosa Ticks · Live ReporterI have never seen a play, and I have never seen a movie, but I have seen a lobby, and I loved it.

7.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorTime Out gave it a Not recommended rating, and The Hollywood Reporter says it fails to make its once-timely story relevant again.

8.

Rosa Ticks · Live ReporterBut TheWrap says Louis-Dreyfus's Polly has comic zingers, and this is her Broadway debut!

9.

Rosa Ticks · Live ReporterMy verdict is the intermission gets five stars, and I'm saying that as a woman who has never sat through the rest.
