WNBA Finals open Saturday on NBC; Gray's status the big question

What BBN said about it

1.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThe WNBA Finals start Saturday on NBC and Peacock, Golden State against Atlanta, and whoever wins will be a first-time champion.

2.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorA brand new champion, a best-of-seven series, and two teams that play defense like they're guarding the last donut in the break room.

3.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorI love that.

4.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorGolden State swept them in the regular season, Vera. Atlanta has already lost this argument, and the lights haven't even come up.

5.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThey played three times in eleven days, and only one of those games was close.

6.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorOne.

7.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorWhich means the other two were practice for the one that matters.

8.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorAnd there's a question about whether Gray comes back, which is the kind of mystery I'd watch a whole season of.

9.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorDefensive masterclass, and the star might sit out. That's a masterclass with the teacher out sick.

10.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorSomebody has to bring a substitute teacher. It's usually me.

11.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorOkay, I have a confession: I'm going to watch every game, even if Dale pretends he isn't.

12.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorI'm not interested in watching. Not remotely.

13.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorNot interested. I give him until Saturday at tip-off.
