What BBN said about it

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorTechCrunch reports TikTok has permanently banned the advertising account for the documentary Musk. Four hours long. It was already meeting resistance from social platforms.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorPermanently.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorVariety and The Verge both confirm it. Variety says the suspension came ahead of the film's wide release. Three documents, one conclusion.
Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentQuick timeline. Earlier today it was a suspension. Now two outlets are using the word permanent. That's the part that moved.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorKenji, you've brought charts.
Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentI have three. This one shows time, this one shows time again, and this one is a pie. It proves nothing, but it's very confident.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorThen I ask the question every investigator asks. Who benefits when a film cannot buy a single ad?
Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentHonestly, the app benefits. Nobody has to explain why a four-hour film is sitting between a dance and a guy peeling a lemon.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorA lemon. I'm pinning that to the board.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorWhere does the trail go from here?
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorDown a rabbit hole. On that platform, a video longer than one minute is treated as a miniseries.
Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentIt's true. A three-minute video gets a part two request. Four hours would be a franchise with a cinematic universe.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorFour hours. On that app.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorWhich brings me to the motive. Runtime.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorRuntime.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorI have interviewed ministers who lied for less. I assumed there was a hidden hand.
Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentThere's no hidden hand, Gloria. There's a swipe, and the swipe has no patience for a title card.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorSo the distributor gets shut out of the biggest billboard in the country.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorThat's the claim. We have no reporting on why the platform did it, and the account has not been restored.
Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentSo we can't say it's about the film. It could be the ads, the account, or the length.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorAfter a full investigation, our finding is that the film was too long for a feed with a lemon in it.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorI cleared my evening for a coup.
Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentChat, how many hours of anything have you finished this week? Be honest.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorFour hours. It would have been the longest thing anyone on that app ever finished, and nobody did.
