Czech man's garden stone is a 3,350-year-old spearhead mould
The nine-inch stone, found in Morkůvky in 2007 and given to the Moravian Museum in 2019, tested positive for copper and tin; a barn used it first.

What BBN said about it

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorIt's nine o'clock Eastern, this is No Bull with Hank, and tonight a man in the Czech village of Morkůvky has learned that the rock in his garden was a Bronze Age spearhead mould.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorIt's about nine inches long, it weighs about two point four pounds, and archaeologists say it's three thousand three hundred and fifty years old.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorMilan Salaš at the Moravian Museum calls it a casting mould, and he says dozens of spearheads may have come out of it.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorLater the stone was used as a foundation block for an old barn.

Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentSo it made dozens of spearheads and then got hired to sit under a barn. Nobody posts about that part.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorLet me finish, because I'd call it a lateral move into structural support, and the barn was lucky to have the experience.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorIt fell out of the barn.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorResearchers say it was brought in from quite a distance, so it had a real career before the barn.

Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentAnd it still had the nerve to fall out of the barn. Even the barn let it go.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThe owner saw it poking out of the ground in two thousand seven and gave it to the museum in twenty nineteen. Twelve years.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorTwelve years in a garden and three thousand in a barn. It's the only one of us with a pension.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThat's No Bull with Hank. We're back Monday at nine Eastern, six Pacific.
