What BBN said about it

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorWe promised you this one: a Lufthansa jet aborted its landing Saturday at Los Angeles International Airport after it barely avoided striking its tail on the runway.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThe pilots pulled up and went around, and CBS News says the plane came in close enough that the tail nearly touched the pavement.
Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorBut everyone is safe, and the crew made the right call at the right second, which is exactly what we want from the people up front.
Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorA tail scrape is a small thing until you remember the tail is what keeps the plane pointed forward.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorIt is, yes.
Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorDale, a go-around is the system working. The pilots had a bad moment and chose the better one.
Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorVera, I have a friend who has never gone around in his life. He is also never anywhere on time.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThe weather is next, and Brock tells me the only thing coming in low today is his mood.
