Washington ExaminerDC asks National Guard to keep troops away from ballot drop boxes, election board says

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThank you, Brock, the opossum has left the tree. Now, as we told you earlier, D.C. elections officials want Guard troops away from ballot boxes.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorHere's what's new.
Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentThe Washington Examiner says the outcry started with a left-wing account on X.
Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentIt posted a video, dated Thursday, of two Guard members standing nonchalantly by a drop box.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorSo the claim is that troops were interfering with voters. The board alleges interference. The Examiner only describes two people standing by a box.
Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentThe summary shows no one blocking anyone. It doesn't say whether any voter was bothered, so I won't guess.
Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentI do suspect the video got more views than the box got ballots.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorNina, drum roll. The Bonk-o-Meter rates this one Medium Bonkers. Real board, real warning, but the evidence is two guys standing around.
