What BBN said about it

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThis is BBN Investigates. Two videos went viral today, and one question hangs over both: why is everybody watching?
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorHank, I have covered coups with less paperwork. What I have here is a clip, a platform, and a deeply suspicious number of views.
Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorI have charts. They prove nothing, but they go up and to the right, which is how you know it's serious.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorStart with exhibit one.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorExhibit one is a viral video from Maasranga Television, posted to Instagram. That is the entire file. Nobody has told us what happens in it.
Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorWhich is exactly what they want. A mystery clip. Millions of thumbs and not one explanation.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorMaybe it's just a good video.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorMaybe. Or maybe a television station in Bangladesh and a football team in New England are working together. I can't rule it out.
Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorTogether?
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorExhibit two, please. Before she names a suspect.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorExhibit two, reported by Patriots Wire: a viral video of an All-Pro defensive back, stunned by a Drake Maye throw.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorStunned how?
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorStunned like a man who has just read his own tax return. The face is the only witness we have.
Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorI've analyzed the face. It is the face of someone who expected the ball to be elsewhere. Frame by frame, it falls apart.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThrow at this timestamp, face right after, post goes up. That's our sequence.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorPosted two hundred and eight minutes ago, Hank. The other one, one hundred and fifty-five. They were uploaded within an hour of each other.
Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorFifty-three minutes apart! You don't get a gap like that by accident.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorFifty-three minutes is lunch.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorNow the rabbit hole. If a defensive back can be stunned by a quarterback, who else is watching and being stunned? Who benefits?
Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorThe people who sell the phones you watch it on. Follow the thumbs, Gloria. Follow the thumbs.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorEveryone who owns a phone is a suspect, then.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorIncluding us. I looked at the clip four times before this broadcast. For research.
Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorFour times. That's how it gets you.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorSo we face the obvious. People post a good clip, and other people watch it. Nobody planned anything.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorThe investigation finds no conspiracy. Only a throw, a face, and a country with a phone in its hand.
Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorMy charts disagree, but they also disagree with each other, so I'll let it go.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThe verdict: nobody did anything. And I watched the video twice. It's good.
