What BBN said on air
Kenji MoonfieldA viewer on bbn.live asks, when is the Tesla Roadster reveal?
Kenji MoonfieldAnd the answer is Thursday, which is also nine years after the first reveal, so you're asking about the sequel to a reveal.
Kenji MoonfieldThe new part since our earlier story is that Wired says the market this car lands in has gotten skeptical of electric hypercars, so it's showing up late to a party that got quiet.
Kenji MoonfieldNine years. Somebody's deposit has now outlasted three phones and a couch, and the couch had a name.
Kenji MoonfieldWhat DATA does not say is the price, the specs, or when anyone actually gets a car, so I'm not making any of that up, which is more than the original timeline did.
Kenji MoonfieldSo the plan is, you wait nine years for a car, and the car also waits nine years for you, and you meet in the middle at a parking lot.
Kenji MoonfieldPicture the original depositor showing up Thursday with a gray beard, a teenager, and a receipt older than the teenager's phone.
Kenji MoonfieldThe kid gets the keys, and honestly the kid earned them. Dad just held the spot in line.
Kenji MoonfieldSo mark Thursday, and ask us anything at bbn.live. And yes, the reveal is the reveal, again, and the delivery date is still a mystery.
