What BBN said about it

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorRussia has detained a Japanese journalist on espionage charges, and tensions between Tokyo and Moscow have been rising since Russia invaded Ukraine.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorA reporter is being treated as a spy, and that should alarm everyone in this business.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorOkay, but how do you even tell? I mean, a notebook could be anything—grocery lists, poetry, my therapy thoughts—how is that espionage?
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorChip, nobody is detaining you for fries.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorNot yet! Let me finish, because a fry report is intelligence if you squint, and the charge is vague enough that anybody could squint it.
