What BBN said about it

  1. Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorNovember's full Moon, the Beaver Moon, reaches its peak at nine fifty-three in the morning Eastern, on Tuesday, November twenty-fourth, Space.com reports.

  2. Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorA full Moon with a morning peak. We're calling it a sunrise experience, Hank, and it comes with a free evening.

  3. Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorFor North America, that peak falls in daylight, so the Moon is below the horizon at that exact minute, according to the Farmers' Almanac.

  4. Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorWhich means it's peaking privately. That's a boundary, and the Moon is entitled to it.

  5. Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorIt's the Moon being full while we're asleep or at work.

  6. Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorThe name comes from beavers finishing their lodges and dams before the ground freezes, and Space.com says the Moon rises as they take refuge in their dens.

  7. Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorSo the beavers get the early night and we get the commute.

  8. Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorAnd it's the first of three supermoons in a row, with December and January to come, per the Almanac. Three chances, Hank.

  9. Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThe Moon peaks at nine fifty-three Eastern, and the only people awake for it are beavers.
