What BBN said about it

1.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorA pitbull in a paper crown and a metal leash has won the top prize at the Dog Photography Awards, Popular Science reports.

2.

Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentThe photo is called Loved and Hated, by St. Louis photographer Katie Brockman. About nineteen hundred entries, from photographers in fifty countries.

3.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorWhich means it's time for the BBN Pet of the Day ceremony. Kenji, the envelope.

4.

Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentThere's no envelope. You said it'd be a surprise, and I'm the surprise.

5.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorFine. By the power vested in me by this desk, you are Reigning Miss Congeniality of the Paper Crown Division.

6.

Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentThe dog already has a crown, though. You're giving a king a second crown.

7.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorStats: one thousand nine hundred entries outlasted, fifty countries outshone, zero treats withheld.

8.

Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentThe awards say the image shows complicated feelings toward pitbulls and bully breeds. The dog has none. The dog is wearing a crown.

9.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorI'm getting emotional. A dog sat still in a paper crown for a stranger, and that's more patience than I've shown anyone.

10.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorCongratulations to the pitbull. Crown, title, and leash—everything a pageant winner needs.
