Florida woman breaks record with 639-pound hip thrust

What BBN said about it

1.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorA Florida fitness coach has earned a Guinness World Record by lifting six hundred thirty-nine pounds using only her hips, UPI reports.

2.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorSix hundred thirty-nine pounds. That's a small car engine, sitting on a person's pelvis.

3.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorIt's a weighted hip thrust. Her shoulders rest on a bench, the bar sits across her lap, and she pushes up. That's the whole event.

4.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorOnly the hips. Nobody checked the hips for a second opinion first.

5.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorWho would they ask?

6.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorSix hundred thirty-nine pounds, and she did it sitting down? My back has been in a sling since the last time I tried to lift a bag of compost.

7.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorMy theory is that hips have always been this strong, and the rest of us never gave them the work.

8.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorMy theory is that when the lights go out, the person with the strongest hips in Florida moves every sofa on the street.

9.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorI've saved you a place near her, Hank.

10.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorKind, but I've made my own arrangements. My hips have one job, which is getting me out of this chair, and the record's safe.
