Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrids recalled in Australia

What BBN said about it

1.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorFolks, Toyota is recalling RAV4 plug-in hybrids in Australia over a potential safety issue, and tonight I want to talk about the letter.

2.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorTalking point number one.

3.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorA recall letter is the one honest piece of mail a car company will ever send you, and you know where it goes?

4.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorUnder the pizza coupons.

5.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorTalking point number two. The data doesn't say what the issue is, and I won't pretend it does.

6.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorBut somebody at Toyota knew enough to print the envelope, and somebody at your house knew enough to ignore it.

7.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorTalking point number three. This car plugs into the wall. It asks one thing of you, open the envelope. That's the whole relationship.

8.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorEvery other letter that company sends is an ad. This is the one that says please. Really?

9.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorSo tonight, if you own one of these, check the glove box. Check the kitchen drawer. Check the pile you've been calling later since spring.

10.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorAnd yes, folks, I have a pile too. Mostly bank statements and a coupon for a sandwich I ate in March.
