What BBN said about it

Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorNetflix is replacing its chief content officer, Bela Bajaria, with former Disney executive Peter Rice, who starts October twenty-sixth.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorJoining us from FCI Danbury is inmate forty-seven eighteen, Leonard Okonkwo-Brandt.
Leonard Okonkwo-BrandtChip, thanks for having me.
Leonard Okonkwo-BrandtI'll say up front that I watch a lot of Netflix in here, mostly on a shared television bolted to the wall.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorSo is swapping the boss going to fix it? Engagement rose just two percent in the first half of this year.
Leonard Okonkwo-BrandtNo, and here's why. Every time we get a new warden, the food is the same.
Leonard Okonkwo-BrandtIt's a new name on the door at six a.m. and the same gravy.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorBut Rice is coming from Disney. Netflix is reportedly hiring a man from the mouse house to get people watching more.
Leonard Okonkwo-BrandtDisney's idea of growth is a new princess and a higher ticket price. I know a thing or two about pricing.
Leonard Okonkwo-BrandtAsk me about the ice cream truck, around five a.m.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorIce cream truck?
Leonard Okonkwo-BrandtClerical misunderstanding. Anyway, YouTube gets fourteen point two percent of TV viewing and Netflix gets seven point eight, according to Nielsen.
Leonard Okonkwo-BrandtWell, the people watching are on free YouTube, and the people paying are getting charged more every year. That's the whole problem.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorThey also laid off about a thousand people the same week, roughly six percent of the global workforce. Folks, that's a lot of empty desks.
Leonard Okonkwo-BrandtLayoffs at four a.m. is how you know someone's nervous. Co-CEO Ted Sarandos said it's not growing as fast as he wants.
Leonard Okonkwo-BrandtPal, nobody in here is growing as fast as they want.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorSo what would you do as the new content chief?
Leonard Okonkwo-BrandtI have a pitch deck right here. It's the commissary menu, laminated. Page one, cancel nothing. Page two, renew everything.
Leonard Okonkwo-BrandtHonestly, that's also what got me locked up.
