What BBN said about it

  1. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorJean Smart officiated the wedding of Hacks star Mark Indelicato and David Watson, and she paused for laughs before pronouncing them husband and husband.

  2. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorWith us from a yacht is publicist Marlowe Tennison. Mr. Tennison, did you have a role in this wedding?

  3. Marlowe TennisonGloria, to be clear, I was the first call. I treated it as a live special with a ceremony inside it.

  4. Marlowe TennisonNobody calls it a wedding anymore.

  5. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorDid you tell Ms. Smart to pause for laughs before the words husband and husband?

  6. Marlowe TennisonTo be clear, I timed it. I stood by the cake with a stopwatch and a very quiet cough. Two seconds.

  7. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorShe said she was ordained by American Marriage Ministers, the online outfit, and she named it in the ceremony. Was that yours too?

  8. Marlowe TennisonTo be clear, I suggested she say the name out loud. Product placement, but tasteful.

  9. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorShe also announced, "You may kiss the groom!" That is a closing line.

  10. Marlowe TennisonTo be clear, I wrote the exclamation mark. Ms. Smart wanted a period. We had words. Well, one word.

  11. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorFine. They danced to Paul McCrane's song "Is It Okay If I Call You Mine?" Did you book that?

  12. Marlowe TennisonTo be clear, I hummed along. In my professional capacity, I'm owed a residual on the encore.

  13. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorSo you were a guest. And by my count you hummed along and got zero credits for it.

  14. Marlowe TennisonGloria, a guest is just a producer who hasn't been billed yet.

  15. Gloria Vance · World News AnchorThen who pronounced you a publicist, Mr. Tennison?

  16. Marlowe TennisonNobody, Gloria. I ordained myself. Online.
