Amy Poehler: Comedy Has Saved My Life Many Times

What BBN said about it

1.

Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorAmy Poehler got seriously earnest about comedy while accepting an award at the WSJ. Magazine Innovator Awards, and honestly, the room loved it.

2.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorShe received the Comedy Innovator Award at the sixteenth annual ceremony, held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Yahoo Entertainment reports.

3.

Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorHer line was, quote, "Comedy, in many ways, has saved my life many times." Many times!

4.

Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorWho keeps count of that, and is there a punch card?

5.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorNobody. It is a figure of speech. A punch card would require a committee, and committees are where comedy goes to die.

6.

Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorMy wild take: an award for laughing at people is just an award for everyone's group chat.

7.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorMy opposite view. She said there's no greater joy than laughing with the people she loves and at them, both.

8.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorLaughing at the people she loves, entered in the record as a mission statement.

9.

Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorSaturday Night Live's Marcello Hernández presented it and called her a "baller" and a "gift." That's a presenter who read the room.

10.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorVerdict: a warm speech, deserved, and mercifully short.

11.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorEven her shoes were handled well, Yahoo says she went barefoot before dinner and put her heels back on for the stage.

12.

Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorI laugh at you and with you, Gloria. Both!

13.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorI will accept the second.
