NYers perplexed by voting mailer touting candidate who 'prayed to be…

What BBN said about it

1.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorHere it is, the story we hinted at: a City Council candidate in New York says in an official election mailer that he is a jealous Swiftie who prayed to be Taylor Swift's husband.

2.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorThe mailer comes from NYC Votes and covers this year's only council election, and the New York Post says voters are puzzled.

3.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorThe line sits right there in his platform.

4.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorA man asked the heavens for a husband slot that was never open, and then he put it in a government mailer. That's a prayer and a campaign promise in one envelope.

5.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorI think it's sweet. He's honest about what he wants, and voters like that in a candidate.

6.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorIs that the official platform? Someone should read the fine print out loud.

7.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorHank, the fine print says this block is over.

8.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThen it's my official choice to agree.
