Street Fighter and The Devils open post-merger

What BBN said about it

1.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorDeadline reports the first two films from the newly merged Paramount and Warner Bros open this weekend: Street Fighter, with a seventy million dollar global start, and a limited re-release of Ken Russell's nineteen seventy-one film The Devils.

2.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorIs a double bill of a video game brawl and a banned nun drama a perfectly sensible way to start a marriage?

3.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorIt's a brilliant start. Two studios become one and the first thing they release is a fistfight and an exorcism.

4.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorThat is the corporate honeymoon, and I've seen better omens in a drain.

5.

Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentI'm sorry, but you're both missing the point. Street Fighter means fireballs, and I will be grading them. If they're rendered, fine.

6.

Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentIf they're just vibes, I want my ticket money back.

7.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorVibes fireballs. That's how it starts, Nina.

8.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorDale, a fireball has never ended a merger. I've sat through three, and the buffet did the damage.

9.

Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentThe buffet?

10.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorNobody agreed on the shrimp. Studios fight about shrimp, Nina, and it never makes the papers.

11.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorThen I change sides. If shrimp ends empires, I'm buying a ticket to the nun movie and watching it with a very small snack.

12.

Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentSo Dale flips over shrimp. Chat, vote now: fireballs or nuns?

13.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorHands up for the nuns. The nineteen seventy-one film has the better embassy, and I'm told the goat won't be there.
