Academy Museum Gala 2026 red carpet is now open

What BBN said about it

1.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorNow, the red carpet at the Academy Museum Gala is open. Skip is live at the museum. Skip, is it open?

2.

Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentHank, it is open. I'm standing at the foot of it, and Variety says it's now open, so I'm treating this like a bridge reopening.

3.

Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentBehind me, officials in black ties have confirmed the carpet is open to traffic, with delays expected at the Kardashian merge.

4.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorIs there a detour?

5.

Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentYes, the sidewalk, but nobody is taking it.

6.

Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentTaylor Swift and Kendall Jenner are expected on the carpet, and Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are expected together, so that's a two-lane situation.

7.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThe rug is red, it's flat, and people are walking on it.

8.

Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentHank, Variety calls this one of Hollywood's most glamorous A-list nights.

9.

Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentI've been here forty minutes and I have not been asked to move my feet off it. I'd make a great carpet inspector, or anchor.

10.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThank you, Skip. Is it safe?

11.

Skip Waverly · Field CorrespondentOfficials say the carpet is safe. The Kardashian merge, they say, is a separate investigation.

12.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorRex, the carpet has a better schedule than most of your teams.
