  2. Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorLola Cruz is standing by tonight.

  3. Lola Cruz · Senior Field CorrespondentI'm standing in a dark observatory parking lot, looking up at nothing, because the star is three hundred twenty-six light-years away and not visible to me.

  4. Lola Cruz · Senior Field CorrespondentIt's called WD J1330 plus 6435, and it's a white dwarf, the leftover core of a star that ran out of fuel.

  5. Lola Cruz · Senior Field CorrespondentResearchers say the green comes from sodium in its atmosphere, which absorbs the orange part of the light.

  6. Lola Cruz · Senior Field CorrespondentI've covered ugly standoffs, and this is the first one where the culprit is table salt. I found a local man.

  7. Walt RuzickaYes, I've read about it, and no, I'm not scared. A zombie eats things.

  8. Walt RuzickaThis one is covered in dust, and my garage is also covered in dust, and nobody calls my garage undead.

  9. Lola Cruz · Senior Field CorrespondentSo the researchers say debris, not a swallowed planet?

  10. Walt RuzickaRight. Dusty, dead, and green. My uncle Walt is the same, minus the green.

  11. Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorSo the zombie is a dead star with a sodium problem. Rex, anything dead on your beat that's still showing up?
