Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThe Jets host the Browns this afternoon at MetLife Stadium in Week Five.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorLola Cruz is in the parking lot, which is where I'm told the real contest happens.
Lola Cruz · Senior Field CorrespondentI'm standing in Lot K at MetLife, and behind me you can see about forty grills and one very organized perimeter. Kickoff is hours away.
Lola Cruz · Senior Field CorrespondentThe smoke is already thick enough to need a permit.
Lola Cruz · Senior Field CorrespondentI've covered ceasefires with less security. A man in a green jersey just told me I can't cross a line of folding chairs.
Lola Cruz · Senior Field CorrespondentI'm speaking with him now. Sir, who holds this position?
Dennis BranniganDennis Brannigan, retired HVAC. I've held this spot since the Jets were good. Nobody touches the grill, ma'am. It's got a chain of command.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorWho's in command?
Dennis BranniganMy brother-in-law. He's late. We're in a crisis.
Lola Cruz · Senior Field CorrespondentTwenty years in war zones and I've never seen morale this low over charcoal. Back to you, Hank.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorCasualty count?
Lola Cruz · Senior Field CorrespondentEleven bratwursts. Two of them were mine.
