Oklahoma caiman captured after months on the loose

What BBN said about it

1.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorAn Oklahoma sheriff's office has released body camera footage of deputies catching a caiman that spent months on the loose, UPI reports.

2.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorMonths. Loose. In a creek behind people's houses.

3.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorIt got out of its owner's home in August.

4.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorNeighbors took about a month to find it, and deputies took a few weeks after that to catch it.

5.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorDeputies actually saw it earlier and let it go, because the water was too murky to catch it. That's the plan. Wait for better water.

6.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThey got it by hand on a Tuesday night. One deputy said his main goal was to come out with all ten fingers.

7.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorA sheriff's office with a finger target. I'd have set the bar at nine.

8.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorHe said he saw a pair of eyes looking at him in the creek bed. Then he grabbed them.

9.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorOklahoma allows caimans as pets with a state permit, so somewhere there's a form that says this is fine, and the form is correct.

10.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThe caiman went back to its owner.

11.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorSo the whole story ends where it started, with a caiman at the same house and a creek full of deputies who now know the way.
