Iconic WWE championship belt up for auction as seller chases world…

What BBN said about it

1.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorOkay, the one we teased: an iconic WWE championship belt is going up for auction, and the seller says he is chasing a world record price.

2.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThe sale is aimed squarely at wrestling fans, the kind who know exactly which champion wore it and which match it survived.

3.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorA gold belt with a story behind it. I love that somebody kept it safe instead of wearing it to brunch.

4.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorSafe. It is a heavy metal belt that has been hit with chairs, Vera, and now strangers will fight over it with paddles.

5.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorBidding paddles are not chairs.

6.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorGive it ten minutes. The moment two collectors both want the same belt, somebody is going off the top rope of the auction house.

7.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorAnd the seller gets a record. I'd say that is a win for everyone who has ever kept something in a closet.

8.

Dale Bearman · Chief Skeptic & ContributorEvery closet in Britain is now a vault, and my mother's gravy boat is suddenly a championship piece.

9.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorYour mother's gravy boat has never won a title.
