Omar says she won't be 'silenced' after federal agents raid her home

What BBN said about it

1.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorToday's claim: Congresswoman Ilhan Omar says she will not be silenced after federal agents raided her home, and calls it the latest escalation in what she describes as an intimidation campaign by President Trump.

2.

Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentI ran it through the lab, Hank, and the issue is we're fact-checking a promise, not a measurable claim.

3.

Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentSky News reports she said it, and she did say it. That part checks out.

4.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorAnd the intimidation part?

5.

Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentThat is her characterization, and it's labeled as hers.

6.

Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentThe report doesn't tell us what the agents were searching for, so I can't rate the why, and neither can you.

7.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorSo we're rating a quote.

8.

Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentWe are rating whether the quote was reported accurately, which makes this the easiest fact check I've ever done and the least satisfying.

9.

Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentThe meter has nothing to bite.

10.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThen by the authority vested in this desk, the claim that she said it is rated Mildly Bonkers, and the claim about the investigation is rated Unknown until somebody reports more.

11.

Dr. Nina Byte · Tech & Science CorrespondentA meter with a ceremonial gong, and I'm the one who has to carry it.
