Birds flee women sooner than men, study finds

What BBN said about it

1.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorBirds in city parks flee sooner from women than from men, across five European countries and thirty-seven species, ScienceDaily reports.

2.

Rosa Ticks · Live ReporterTwo thousand seven hundred and one observations! Walkers matched for height and clothing, marching in a dead straight line at birds!

3.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorAnd the researchers say they don't know why. Pheromones, body shape and the way people walk are only guesses. So we're opening the ceremony.

4.

Rosa Ticks · Live ReporterWhich bird wins?

5.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorAll thirty-seven. The title is Most Selective Personal Space Manager, because those birds set boundaries and I support that.

6.

Rosa Ticks · Live ReporterStat line! Thirty-seven species, five countries, zero explanations, and one pigeon type that lets you walk right up!

7.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorThe best part is the distance. In urban parks, men got about one metre closer before the birds flew away.

8.

Rosa Ticks · Live ReporterOne metre! That is a whole arm and a half of fear!

9.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorTake a breath with me, Rosa. In through the nose, and out, for the birds. Thank you for your service, little ones.

10.

Rosa Ticks · Live ReporterI AM BREATHING, VERA, I AM JUST BREATHING AT A PIGEON!
