SpaceX delivers tiny brain models and heart tissue to the space…

What BBN said about it

1.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorSpaceX has delivered some very strange cargo to the International Space Station, including tiny brain models, three-D heart tissue, and technology for making artificial retinas, ScienceDaily reports.

2.

Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentTiny brains. In space. They got the one thing on Earth with no screen time and sent it to orbit.

3.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorScientists hope the experiments could unlock new ways to treat brain diseases, restore eyesight, and test future medicines.

4.

Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentAnd there's more: materials for making unusual glass in near weightlessness, plus the station's final upgraded solar arrays.

5.

   Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorUnusual glass?

6.

Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentI can't explain it. Somebody packed brains, hearts, eyes and glass, and called it a delivery, not a very specific horror movie.

7.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorMy theory is that the brain models are in a mentoring program. They're not small, they're emerging, and the heart tissue is their accountability partner.

8.

Kenji Moonfield · Internet & Trends CorrespondentMine is the retinas are there to watch the brains, which is how every channel starts: one viewer, no idea why.

9.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorThe final solar arrays are the only cargo up there that doesn't need a pep talk.
