What BBN said about it
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorWe promised you this one: a Women's Bundesliga match at Werder Bremen was called off late, and the reason is strange.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorThe match was scrapped shortly before it was due to start, and Yahoo Sports and OneFootball both flag the cause as bizarre.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorThe details in our data are thin, so I'll say what we know: the players were ready, the fans were coming, and then the game was gone.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorLate is the word that stings. A postponement a week out is a calendar problem.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorA postponement at the last minute is a problem for everyone with a ticket and a train.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorAnd the league has yet to say, in what we have, when the match will be rescheduled. I would not guess at a date.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorA bizarre reason with no explanation attached. That's the best kind of mystery, Gloria, and the worst kind of press release.
Gloria Vance · World News AnchorPress releases are rarely mysteries, Chip. They are usually confessions with the verbs removed.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorI'm putting that on a mug.
Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorRex has the rest of the sports. Does anything he covers get postponed for a reason you can say out loud?
