Eric Trump backs FCC probe into ABC's revised Anduril report

What BBN said about it

1.

Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorEric Trump is backing Senator Bernie Moreno's call for an FCC investigation into ABC News, after the network's erroneous report linking his family to Anduril Pentagon contracts.

2.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorABC revised the story. That is the fact.

3.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorA correction is how a newsroom says it was wrong, and a federal probe is how a politician says he wants it louder.

4.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorCan I just say, a correction is a gift. ABC gave everyone a fresh start, but the family responded by opening a government investigation.

5.

Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorEric Trump called it a hit piece, and I think we can all agree a hit piece deserves a very sincere thank-you note.

6.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorA thank-you note, Chip, is not a legal remedy.

7.

Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorThank you, Gloria!

8.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorLet me finish.

9.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorIf ABC retitled the correction something uplifting, like a story that grew, nobody would need a probe, and I will draft it tonight.

10.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorYou would draft a correction to your own correction. I have seen that process. In Washington they call it a hearing, and it never ends.

11.

Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorI'd watch that hearing, with snacks and a very polite gavel.

12.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorThe corrected correction.

13.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorEarlier tonight, Dale warned that nobody gives a gift without wanting something back. ABC gave a correction, and tonight everyone wants a different one.

14.

Gloria Vance · World News AnchorThis panel agreed on nothing, and I am marking that draft as gut.
