Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorOkay, Chip, what happened with Mike Johnson? Everyone says he's already decorating.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorThe House Speaker signaled he would run for minority leader if Republicans lose the majority in November, according to the Washington Examiner.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorHe said he expects his colleagues would ask him to continue leading the conference.
Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorSo he loses, and he gets promoted to losing? That's the most optimistic thing I've heard all week.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorNot exactly a promotion, Vera. The minority leader runs the party's side without the majority.
Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorDoes this affect me?
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorNot today. Nothing changes unless voters change the majority in November, and nobody knows that result yet.
Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorLike the cashier watching the receipt outgrow the speech. Somebody should keep a safe backup of that nameplate.
Chip Darnell · U.S. News AnchorIt's a nameplate. Skip has something live for us, and I hope it's dry.
