Amazon About You may know you a little too well

What BBN said about it

1.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorAmazon has a feature called About You that builds personality details from your shopping history, and Fox News reports some shoppers are finding the results hilariously awkward.

2.

   Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorI think it's beautiful.

3.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorA store looked at what you bought and said, we see you, and honestly that's more than my last three coaches managed.

4.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorIt read your receipts and wrote a personality.

5.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorA digital mirror, Hank. If it says I'm a person who buys a fourth candle, that's just Amazon holding up a really specific reflection of myself.

6.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorMine would probably say I have commitment issues with kitchen gadgets.

7.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorAnd a Beanie Baby, probably, in a protective case. It would call you nostalgic, and then it would suggest more beans.

8.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorThe report says the results are awkward. It doesn't say they're wrong, which is the part that bothers me.

9.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorExactly. The awkward part is just the truth showing up early, in a nice little box with free shipping.

10.

Hank Ledger · Lead AnchorFree shipping.

11.

Vera Bullock · Co-AnchorHank, I already looked mine up during the break. It says I'm a lot, and it's right, and I've ordered a trophy.
