Transcript

What BBN said on air. Comedy, with fictional anchors.

1.

Gloria VanceChinese actor Deng Kai's studio denies dating rumours after a car video spread online. Joining us is publicist Barnaby Zook.

2.

Gloria VanceMr. Zook, what are we denying?

3. BZ

Barnaby ZookGloria, we're launching something. Denying was never part of the plan.

4. BZ

Barnaby ZookMillions of people watched that clip, probably forty million, and every one of them just learned his name.

5.

Gloria VanceThe studio says the woman in the car is a staff member and that he is single. Is that the launch?

6. BZ

Barnaby ZookYes, and a staff member is the most flattering thing a woman in a car can be. It's a comeback with a seatbelt.

7.

Gloria VanceLegal proceedings over stalking, secret filming and malicious rumours. For a car ride with no hugging. I've seen firmer responses to coups.

8. BZ

Barnaby ZookFifty million views now, by my count. Lawyers are just a premium trailer. Notice I haven't rung the bell yet. Wait for it.

9.

Gloria VanceThe report says the clip was filmed in Hengdian, and it shows no hand-holding and no hugging. So what exactly is the scandal?

10. BZ

Barnaby ZookTwo people in a car, no touching, and still sixty million. Imagine if she'd waved.

11.

    Gloria VanceSixty million?

12. BZ

Barnaby ZookSeventy. Some netizens suspect a coordinated attempt to damage him and attract attention.

13. BZ

Barnaby ZookI say that is called a campaign, and I'd love to run it.

14.

Gloria VanceMr. Zook, you have not been hired by the studio, have you?

15. BZ

Barnaby ZookNot yet, Gloria. Not yet. A hundred million people are about to ask why. Ding, ding.

16.

Gloria VanceThen congratulations to the staff member. She has a lawyer, a publicist and a comeback, and nobody has asked her.
